Since my visit to the Academy I have told everyone who would listen about the excellent opportunity. Everything I thought the Naval Academy stood for changed. I thought it was only for rich privilege children. Now I know different it’s an excellent opportunity for a well rounded student. Again I haven’t stopped talking about what I learned and the excellent opportunity for our students.

NAMA connects me with like-minded alumni who are united in purpose and passion. We are intentional about mentoring Midshipmen, amplifying the voices of the underrepresented, and in sharing our experiences and networks to enable their success at USNA and in the Fleet. I am personally committed to investing in our future leaders and NAMA enables me to honor that commitment.

The most interesting fact I learned about the Naval Academy was that the Admission department was open to admitting well-rounded candidates, relationship with professors, and the four-year graduation rate. The misconception that everyone has to have perfect grades intimidate potential candidates.

Joining NAMA allows me to help the institution that I love so much become more diverse and representative of America. Through this organization and the various affinity groups at USNA, we can better understand, celebrate, and appreciate the differences between the various ethnic groups on the yard and improve their career opportunities by mentoring and sponsoring these future graduates.
